The meeting was held at the chamber office at 12 noon.

The meeting was called to order by the president Walt. Walt introduced Kate Sullivan. She is running for State Legislature. She talked about herself and what her goals were.
Minutes: were approved with a motion from Mark, 2nd by Shannon, motion carried
Treasurers Report: motion by Mark, 2nd by Gwen to pay all the bills and add vice president and sec to the signature cards at the bank, motion carried.
Motion by Lisa, 2nd by Sara to leave the account at Heritage Bank.
Old Business:
Appreciation breakfast: April 20th at the American Legion Club 8-12. Julie, Gwen, Melissa and Craig Smith, and Julie T. will chair it. Pancakes, sausage, fruit cups, juice and coffee will be served. Need workers, call Julie. Setting up at 2pm Sat. April 19 at the legion, need people to help set up. Take door prizes to the pinnacle bank. Heritage- napkins, Golden Living Center- fruit cups, Farm Credit Services of America-plates, need cups and silver wear. Terri is going to ask Affiliated about syrup and Roberts dairy about juice & milk.
New Business:
Ribbon cutting flowers from Chamber-Motion by Mark,2nd by Nick to continue with flowers for all ribbon cuttings and a membership plaque for that year, motion carried
City Wide garage sales: contact person Joan Wright at news office.
Mail received: Norfolk shopper- motion made by Mark,2nd by Gwen not to advertise with the Norfolk Shopper and to continue advertising in the tourism flyer for $110 a year. The phone number needs to be changed to 402-887-4447. Motion carried
Committee Reports:
Membership: only about2 left to collect from. This is great. If some one has not received their membership card let Jeri know.
Tourism: Tara Smith reported that the FBLA students would still like to do the bags for Mill Tours, Halloween party for the children is set for Oct. 25th at the high school. 9:30-11:30. games and hayrack rides, FBLA to do this.
Customer Appreciation: already discussed
Retail Trade: memorial day special sales and drawing. This will be similar to the turkey drawing. Each business will have a drawing and give away a prize at their location. The customer will make a purchase and then register. The prize can be what ever the business chooses, an item or a gift certificate to the business. We will send out info on this. Also we will help organizing decorating store fronts for the bikers to come. Write on windows, set up displays out front (like old fashion bike or tries) prize for best decorated to be finalized next month.

Items for news letter: decorate businesses before June 20th for bikers, prizes for best decorated. Anyone wanting to donate prizes or food for the customer app. breakfast can take the item to Julie at pinnacle bank. If you can help work, contact Julie or Melissa Smith. Set up for appreciation is sat the 19th at 2pm legion club. Need a lot of bodies. If your business would like to put a notification of something going on at your business in the news letter get the info to Joan Wright by the 10th of the month. Any one wanting to be on a committee contact Jeri or one of the people on the committee. We will be placing businesses on committees so pick the one you want first. Put in the news letter ribbon cutting business, Welcome Thriven Insurance and Neligh Locker. Garage Sales reminder. Memorial day sales and drawings.
